Remuneration:
Ascent will direct bill for all products and services contracted. Billing could be by retainer, by the hour, by the contract, by contingency, by cost plus, by finder's fee, by commission, in advance, or a combination.
Applicable Charges:
Charges will depend on various criteria including the tasks and services performed, established credit, and the level of experience and skills required. When working on retainer; minimum charges will be applied as per the agreed cycle (i.e. hourly, monthly, quarterly, etc). Where professionals are retained; rates and methods of payment will also vary (i.e. for lawyers, accountants, multi-lingual or other special requirements, etc).
Hourly rate(s) charged may vary and will also be based on several criteria including combinations of experience, skill, function, and location. There will be times when we bill on an accumulation of time spent in place of or in addition to 'by the contract or project.' This will be pre-determined with the client and be stated within the terms and conditions of the service contract or letter of agreement. All third party contractors, associated travel cost, miscellaneous expenses, and products provided or managed by Ascent will be approved and may be implemented on a cost plus or contract basis. Applicable taxes will also be applied.
Variables such as the mode of delivery could also make a difference (i.e. face to face, by email, by phone, etc.). Working within office or 'on call' hours (i.e. 24/7/365) and the volume of use (i.e. one day or several) will also be determinants.
Billing Method:
The billing method and associated costs will be dependant on a number of factors including but not necessarily inclusive of the following:
- The length and terms of the contract;
- If the project is 'one off' or ongoing;
- If the company is on retainer, what rate(s) are applicable and in what billing cycle;
- In what geography, and if there are multiple locations or occurrences;
- References, security, and/or credit history, etc.
Third Party Suppliers:
Where third part suppliers are involved, although Ascent may act on behalf of the client, the client will be required to sign off in advance for any services, supplies or products contracted. If Ascent should agree to pre-pay for those products or services directly, the client will be bound to reimburse Ascent from the point Ascent acts on its behalf. Ascent may agree to take a commission from its suppliers or may mark up goods or services on a pro-rated industry standard basis. Ascent will not be liable for any losses which a client may suffer through the actions of any third party except where provided by law. Ascent will assist to help seek to resolve disputes for services and products provided between its clients and third party suppliers it deems reasonable and was a party to contract.
